** I think it is important to acknowledge that I hold multiple seen and unseen privileges, which I am actively working to understand and educate myself on how these privileges impact my work.

Sherie Schjolin, MA, RD, LD

Registered Dietitian

I have always had a strong interest in food, cooking and understanding how the body receives and responds to food. I had a long career in the restaurant industry and decided to go back to school to really explore my passion with food and nutrition. I received a Bachelor of Science in Dietetics from Madonna University in Livonia, Michigan.

After completing my Dietetic Internship and completing a Master of Arts in Family and Consumer Science at Western Michigan University, I immediately began working at a residential treatment center for eating disorders. I also have experience working at the partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient levels, however, I genuinely enjoy the outpatient setting the most!

My Approach

My goal in doing this work is to provide a safe space, along with compassionate support and guidance, to help you feel confident in your relationship with food, exercise and your body, that aligns with your values and vision. My approach is an individualized, person-centered, trauma informed perspective and incorporates evidence-based science through a non-diet, weight inclusive lens.

I believe that a holistic approach is extremely valuable, because there are a number of ways we receive nourishment in our day to day lives, not just with food.  It is important to consider these along with how we nourish ourselves with food.
